A Thanksgiving Day Survival Guide

Thanksgiving …. Ahhhhh. The smells, the feels, the naps.

For families affected by autism, Turkey Day may also mean changes in schedules, traveling, loud noises, unfamiliar people, different foods and barely-contained chaos. While my husband and I have learned how to make our little corner of the world more sensory-friendly for our child, many of our friends and relatives don’t have the first clue about what to do or why.

After doing some web-surfing, I rediscovered this CAC tipsheet on how to make the holiday more accessible and fun. I plan to forward it to all our loved ones and I hope you and yours can benefit from this list as well.

Happy Thanksgiving!
