Autism Resource Navigator (Part-Time)

The Chattanooga Autism Center is seeking a part-time (16-24hr/week) Resource Navigator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping people find local autism resources by answering phone calls and emails, updating and maintaining our resource webpage, overseeing our bi-weekly email newsletter, and representing the CAC by exhibiting at community events. We’re looking for a resource navigator who is passionate about the neurodivergent community, attentive to detail, able to evolve as resources evolve, and who can communicate clearly and compassionately via phone, email, and in person.​

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in the Chattanooga Autism Center’s program offerings, as well as other autism-related community resources and use this knowledge to help individuals and families navigate services (ongoing training/supervision will be provided).

  • Respond to calls and emails from people in the community who are seeking help finding autism resources (10-20 cases per week on average).

  • Use active listening and communication skills to empathize with callers, identify needs, and help direct them to appropriate resources and services.

  • Log all cases promptly and accurately in the CAC’s call log software.

  • Manage Regional Resources webpage on the CAC website using Wix.

  • Oversee CAC's bi-weekly resource newsletter using MailChimp.

  • Help train and supervise interns who will also respond to calls/emails.

  • Occasionally exhibit at community events to share about resources and services.

 

Required Experience/Skills

  • Interest in working with the autistic/neurodivergent population

  • Ability to navigate complex conversations with clarity, accuracy, and empathy via phone, email and in person

  • Ability to enter data and write/edit content for website and emails without need for supervision and proofreading (attention to detail)

  • Ability to identify changing resource details and evolve responses to clients (continuous learning and adapting).

 

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in a social services, case management, or customer support role

  • Familiarity with Google Suite, Wix, and/or MailChimp

  • Personal connection with autism or neurodiversity

  • Personal experience navigating resources

  • Spanish-speaking preferred ($1/hr. raise)

 

Education 

H.S. diploma or equivalent required

Higher education in related field preferred (social work, psychology, public health, communications, etc.)

 

Pay & Benefits Summary

  • Starting pay: $15-$18/hr.

  • Up to 10 days of paid time off & 7 paid holidays per year (dependent on weekly hours)

Bridges ABA Clinic - Board Certified Behavior Analyst

At the Chattanooga Autism Center Bridges Clinic, BCBAs deliver compassionate, trauma-assumed ABA while working within a larger nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing quality care to autistic individuals and their families. BCBAs are expected to work a minimum of 35 hours per week with 27 of those hours meeting the standards for insurance reimbursement. Caseloads should not exceed 150 client hours / week or 10 clients (whichever occurs first). BCBAs should be on site at the clinic for a minimum of four days a week with the option of working remotely two days / month. Enjoy close collaboration with other BCBAS, licensed counselors, occupational therapists, and music therapists as you develop individualized interventions for our learners ages 2-8.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ($66,000 - $75,000)

Required education/experience: 

  • Graduate degree in a Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field

  • Completed eligibility requirements for board certification as outlined by the Behavior Analytic Certification Board

  • Licensed as a Behavior Analyst in the state of Tennessee highly preferred

  • Competency in administering ABA-based assessments (VB-MAPP, PEAK, EFL, LIFE, etc.)

  • Fluency in developing, administering, and evaluating behavior intervention plans


Preferred education/experience: 

  • Completion of the 8-hour supervision course as outlined by the BACB

  • Competency in administering ABA-specific assessments such as the VB-MAPP and PEAK

  • Experience in the administration Functional Communication Training across multiple modalities 

  • Experience in supervising RBTs and individuals pursuing BCBA certification

Counseling Center - Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Description: The Chattanooga Autism Center is seeking a full-time or part-time, TN licensed (or license-eligible) Clinical Psychologist for our outpatient clinic. The candidate will perform diagnostic assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorders for both children and adults. Candidates should have experience working with individuals with autism and their families, and experience or training in performing the ADOS. Knowledge of developmental disabilities and common comorbid mental health diagnostics is preferred. In addition to testing, candidates will have the opportunity to provide outpatient therapy to children, families, and adults on the autism spectrum.
