REACH Summer Learning - Job Opportunities

REACH Summer Learning is a 6-week summer program for children age 5-15 with autism, Down syndrome, and typical developing students. We are seeking teachers and volunteers for the summer of 2020. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic candidates who are interested in working with children on the autism spectrum and have a strong desire to improve the lives of children of all abilities.

Lead Classroom Teachers

 

We are seeking motivated special education teachers with at least three years of classroom experience to lead one of the program classrooms for the summer of 2020. The optimal candidate will have a passion for inclusive education and the ability to differentiate instruction for a variety of learners.

 

Primary duties will include:

  • Attending a parent-teacher conference to review IEP goals of the children in your classroom

  • Preparing a daily schedule and lesson plan for your classroom

  • Setting up and organizing your classroom

  • Giving direction to two classroom teaching assistants

  • Communicating in a daily notebook with parents

  • Utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in the classroom

Qualifications are a degree in education (special education preferred) with at least three years of direct classroom experience with children with autism. Your hours will be from 8:30 AM-3:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for the following dates.  You must be able to work all six weeks listed.

June:  9, 10, 11 and 16, 17, 18, and 23, 24, 25.

July: 7, 8, 9 and 14, 15, 16, and 21, 22, 23

​

Your hours include one hour per day of prep and cleanup (30 minutes each).

Lead Classroom Teacher

Classroom Teaching Assistants

 

We are seeking multiple teaching assistants for the summer of 2020. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic candidates who have experience working with children on the autism spectrum and a strong desire to improve the lives of children of all abilities.

 

Primary duties will include:

  • Working closely with the lead classroom teacher to implement daily schedules and lesson plans

  • Assisting the teacher in setting up and organizing classroom materials

  • Promoting a positive, safe environment for children with autism and their peers

  • Utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in the classroom

​

Qualifications are some direct classroom or volunteer experience; specifically with children on the autism spectrum.

Your hours will be from 8:30-2:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for the following dates.  You must be able to work all six weeks listed.

June:  9, 10, 11 and 16, 17, 18, and 23, 24, 25.

July: 7, 8, 9 and 14, 15, 16, and 21, 22, 23

 

Pay for qualified candidates will range from $8-$11/hour based on experience and qualifications.

Classroom Teaching Assistants

Classroom Volunteers

We are seeking volunteers for the summer of 2020. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic candidates who are interested in working with children on the autism spectrum and have a strong desire to improve the lives of children of all abilities. ~100 hours over six weeks.

​

Primary duties will include:

  • Working closely with the lead classroom teacher to implement daily schedules and lesson plans

  • Assisting the teacher in setting up and organizing classroom materials

  • Promoting a positive, safe environment for children with autism and their peers

  • Utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in the classroom

​

Qualifications are some direct classroom or volunteer experience; specifically with children on the autism spectrum or coursework in education, exceptional education, psychology or social work.

Your hours will be from 8:30AM-2:30 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for the following dates.  You must be able to work all six weeks listed.

June:  9, 10, 11 and 16, 17, 18, and 23, 24, 25.

July: 7, 8, 9 and 14, 15, 16, and 21, 22, 23
