Chattanooga Autism Awareness Walk

2017 Walk Details

 

When: Saturday, November 18. 

- Activities start at 9am.

- Walk starts at 11am.

- Event ends around noon

 

Where: Coolidge Park

 

Route:  

- Distance: 2 miles
- Starts at stage in park

- Goes up River Street and Frazier 

- Over Walnut Street Bridge (lined with autism fact banners)

- Circles back near Museum and over bridge again

- Finishes back in Coolidge Park

Cost:

- $30 +$2.49 fee for adults (includes long sleeve shirt)

- $15 +$1.74 fee for kids ages 4 to 12 (includes long sleeve shirt)

- Free for infants (no shirt provided)

NOTE: During checkout, you have the options to pay the fees that are normally charged to the CAC. If you do not want to also pay those fees, just uncheck the box for fees.

 

Registering and Fundraising

 

Registering is for those attending the event.

People must register themselves and family members and pay registration fees. Registration comes with high quality commemorative long-sleeve shirts in the sizes you request and tickets for event. 

 

After you register you are asked to "Create Fundraising Page". Follow the steps to first create a page for yourself. Then, the system allows you to either 'create a team' or 'join a team'. You can use your individual or your team page to fundraise and help support the CAC.

 

PLEASE help raise money for this event! The funds from this walk allow us to offer the many programs and services in our region. 

 

How to Register Individual or Family:

  1. go to chattautismwalk.com

  2. Click the "Register Now" button

  3. Click the green "Tickets" button. 

  4. Select the number of walkers and youth walkers can click checkout.

  5. Enter payment information and desired shirt sizes and click 'Pay Now' at the bottom.

 

How to Create Fundraising Page:

  1. After you register and pay, you're taken to the "Create Your Fundraising Page

  2. Enter your name for page title and select your target amount you'd like to try to raise.

  3. Enter your name and address. Click agree box.

    1. Choose "Create with Facebook" to make it easy to log in and to share your page.

    2. Or, enter an email address and password to create an account with your email.

  4. Personalize your page.  

 

How to Create or Join a TEAM:

  1. AFTER you complete your fundraising page, you are given buttons to create or join a team.

  2. Click the appropriate button and follow instructions. 

 

Note: You cannot create a team with the same name as your personal fundraising page. We recommend using your first and last name for your personal fundraising page title and then use any name you like when you create the team page.

 

How to Add Family Members to Your Team:

  1. Click THIS LINK

    1. If you're adding a spouse or teen who wants to control their own page and use their own social media, you may have to log out, and then create a log-in with their email.

    2. If you're creating pages for young kids or for family members who will not be doing their own fundraising or sharing on their social media, you can stay logged in and make new pages while logged in as yourself.

  2. Enter the page title and other info and create the page.

  3. Personalize the page. Upload photos because they increase fundraising, 

  4. When complete, click the 'join a team' button and search for the team you created and join.

 

How to help if you can NOT attend the walk:

 

People who can't attend but want to support this walk can create their own fundraising pages. And, if they want, they can then join a team. Use this fundraising page to get friends, families, and co-workers to donate! Here's how:

Every November volunteers at the CAC host a huge autism walk at Coolidge Park. Hundreds of families attend this fun event along with businesses, schools and other members of the community. 

​

This annual event is also the main fundraiser for the Chattanooga Autism Center. All of the funds raised go to support local autism programs.
